Maggie Strode, OTR/L, CHT, MLD-T
Maggie earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Temple University in 2019 and pursued advanced training at Thomas Jefferson University in 2021, obtaining a Hand and Upper Limb Certification. In 2023, she achieved the prestigious designation of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), a milestone requiring over 4,000 hours of hands-on patient care and passing a rigorous examination. Adding to her expertise, Maggie became certified in manual lymphatic drainage in 2024.
Maggie’s career began with a focus on geriatric patients, treating neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease. She later honed her specialization in upper extremity rehabilitation, particularly in managing complex cases of overuse injuries and nerve pain.
Outside of her professional work, Maggie enjoys expressing her creativity through painting and ceramics. She spends summers hiking and swimming in the mountains and loves attending concerts and exploring museums.
Occupational Therapist, Owner
Alanah O’Dea, OTR/L
Alanah earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from New York University and her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts. She graduated from NYU as a member of the Occupational Therapy Honor Society and held several leadership roles in department organizations.
For the past several years Alanah has been working as an upper extremity specialist in an outpatient orthopedic clinic and has a history working as a certified personal trainer and home health aide for individuals with traumatic brain injuries. Alanah believes in providing client-centered care, applying evidence-based practice to treatment, and cultivating therapeutic relationships built on trust and support.
Alanah is a digital artist and film photographer who continues to express her creativity through the colorful interior design of her home. In her free time, Alanah is an avid backpacker, biker, snowboarder, and reader, and on occasion, enjoys beading customized bracelets to hand out at music festivals.

Danielle Wagar, CPES
Danielle is the biller behind Dexterity Hand Therapy, and a Certified Provider Enrollment Specialist who helps you get the most out of your out-of-network benefits. She works behind the scenes with insurance companies across the country to check your coverage upfront and submit your claims for reimbursement, so you know what to expect before you start treatment.
When you have a question about your bill or your reimbursement, you're talking to Danielle directly, not being passed around a call center. She keeps track of every claim with a follow-up date, so nothing slips through the cracks waiting on a check that never comes. She checks in with insurance companies on a regular schedule rather than waiting for them to reach out, because reimbursements rarely get denied outright. They usually just get stuck because nobody followed up.
Outside of work, Danielle lives in Upstate New York with her husband and two daughters. When she's not sorting out insurance details, she's usually hiking or out in the garden. As someone who juggles a full family life herself, she understands that the last thing anyone wants to think about during a course of therapy is a confusing bill.

Elida Smith
Patient and Operations Assistant
Elida is currently studying Psychology at Pace University. She works as a Patient and Operations Assistant at Dexterity Hand Therapy, where she helps with the day-to-day operations of the clinic and works with both patients and the therapy team. Working at Dexterity has given her experience in a clinical setting and the opportunity to get to know and connect with patients.
Elida enjoys helping patients feel comfortable while they are at the clinic and likes being able to work with and learn from the Dexterity team. Her interest in psychology has also given her a strong interest in learning about people and the different ways our physical and mental well-being can affect everyday life.
Outside of work and school, Elida enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and exploring New York City. She has lived in both Italy and Spain, which has made traveling and experiencing new places a big part of her life. She also has a background in dance and enjoys staying active and trying new things in her free time.
